Bonk Wiki

Bonk's Adventure, known as GB Genjin (GB原人, GB Caveman) in Japan, and B.C. Kid in Europe, is a platformer video game developed by Red Company and published by Hudson Soft and released on Game Boy in 1992. This game is a unique title in the series, only borrowing the gameplay mechanics from the original Bonk's Adventure for the TurboGrafx-16 and featuring its own unique set of levels and bosses.

Story[]

Japanese Version[]

Whether they are close or not, the battle between the two (PG Genjin and King Tamagodon III) has reached the GB. King Tamagodon III's WaruWaru Army brought in new comrades to win! They are burning their fighting spirit with the cavemen! Beware! GB Genjin! It's a super Bonk that breaks rocks to defeat King Tamagodon III and his gang!!

Western Version[]

The cave boy with the head of stone is back in this new chapter of his amazing adventures! Join Bonk as he travels through Dinosaur Land in search of the beautiful Moon Princess! But it looks like Bonk's old enemy King Drool is ready to take over! He's captured the princess and demands to rule Dinosaur Land. Now Bonk has to use his head (literally!), to blast King Drool's fools off of the map and bring peace back to the realm. Explore the wild world of our hard-headed kid and always keep an eye out for hidden items and bonus zones!

Gameplay[]

This game plays more or less the same as the original Bonk's Adventure, though his original transformations were changed into the new Rock-Head Bonk and Invisible Screamer. Bonk can also turn into a Kame Genjin, which works much like the Crab Bonk form from Bonk's Revenge, allowing him to swim faster in aquatic sections.

Trivia[]

  • Although much of the soundtrack is simply arranged versions of the original Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge, the game only contains one original track, which can be heard in one act of the fourth stage and in the exclusive karaoke section in the Japanese version.
